RunKeeper is Marathon Ready

Hi everyone, the local startup story that is FitnessKeeper (the makers of the top iPhone fitness tracking app RunKeeper) continues this weekend as we capitalize on the Boston marathon. We have been working with a team of college students from Dave Gerzof's social media class at Emerson College to help us define our social media strategy. Three and a half weeks before the Boston Marathon, they had a REALLY big idea. It wasn't going to be easy. No one knew if we would be able to pull it off. But everyone agreed that if we did, it was going to be something really special. And it has.

Articles have been written about us in Xconomy, MassHighTech, ITWorld, Adweek, The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW), Mashable, and the New York Times. We'll even got TV news appearances on NECN! and TV33.

We decided right at the beginning to chronicle our journey. We've accomplished a heck of a lot in a few weeks time. And we filmed it every step of the way and post them on runkeeper.com/marathon.
