The October 8th Class featured Marina Hatsopoulos, Former President, Z Corporation, MIT '93. She related her story of launching and running Z Corporation, makers of the world’s fastest 3D printers.

Marina was an inspirational speaker. She shared with the class how she got started in business and condensed her real life experiences into ‘challenges’ and ‘learnings’. Marina talked passionately and engagingly about how her visit, while a student there, to MIT’s technology licensing office in 1994 (with an intent to finding new technology to commercialize) resulted in her co-founding what would become a very successful business.

At the MIT Technology Licensing office, she was introduced to MIT’s 3D printing technology. Marina went on to successfully negotiate a license for the technology, becoming the co-founder and founding CEO of Z Corporation. Over a period of 10 years she and her colleagues grew the 4-person start-up into a $30 million privately-held technology business, Z Corporation.
